How We Choose Providers

We only connect people with short term accommodation providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, who support the person's age and needs, who may have a stay that suits and who agree to contact you promptly. We check they did, and we stop working with providers who don't.

  1. Registered With the NDIS Commission

    We only work with providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, even though plan-managed and self-managed participants can use unregistered providers. We check the Commission's public provider register when they join, and again from time to time.

  2. The Right Ages and Support

    Providers tell us which ages they support and what they can manage, like overnight support, high intensity care or a behaviour support plan. We only pass your details on when that fits what you told us.

  3. A Stay That May Suit

    Providers tell us where their houses are and when they have room. We pass your details on when they may have something that fits.

  4. They Contact You Promptly

    Providers agree to contact you promptly after we pass your details on. We follow up to check they did. If they didn't, we find someone else.

  5. Children's Rules Followed

    Providers who care for children have to follow state and territory laws, including Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People checks. We ask providers who support children to confirm they do.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't decide eligibility or give advice about your plan. That's the NDIA, with your support coordinator.
  • We don't inspect houses. Visit before a first stay if you can, using our guide to planning a first stay.
  • We don't send your details to a group of providers at once. It's one at a time.
  • We don't charge you anything. Providers pay us for introductions, as explained on how it works.
